Quickly Drilling Spaced Holes in Wood with Center-Rite

Drilling properly spaced holes in the corners of wood boards typically requires measuring from the corners of the board and marking the proper spot to drill. From there, it is always a good idea to center punch the mark and drill it on a drill press with increasingly larger bits, all while holding a piece of scrap wood underneath to prevent splitting. This process can be time consuming, especially when drilling tens or even hundreds of holes while trying to keep the spacing accurate.

Duffy Technologies has circumvented this with the Center-Rite drilling system. With this system, you simply set the base true to your drill press’ spindle and insert whichever spacing bumper (Corner, flat, etc.) and drill as many holes as you need. We’ve been testing and proving out this product on some cheaper lumber and have been getting great results. For example, here are some planter boxes made with cheap 1×4 lumber, all made in under 45 minutes each!
